Google has released Android 5.0.1, a minor upgrade to Android 5.0, in Android Open Source Project (AOSP). The update most likely include bug-fixes, given the small bump in the version number. The company has also published the updated factory images with Android 5.0.1 base for select Nexus devices like Nexus 9 Wi-Fi, Nexus 7 (2013) Wi-Fi, and Nexus 10, but there is no word on the exact dates for OTA roll-out.With many bug reports appearing after the Android 5.0 release for Nexus devices, the release of a new version with fixes was expected from Google and the company has done the same. Yota has announced that its second dual-screen smartphone will go on sale this week in Europe. The Yota Phone 2, which was originally showcased for the first time at MWC in February this year, will retail for 33,000 roubles ($620) and will be initially available in markets such as Russia and UK.The company plans to roll-out the Yota Phone 2 to 20 European countries by the end of this year and will release the phone in Asia-Pacific in early 2015, followed by Latin America and Canada. Indian smartphone vendor Karbonn has silently released a new Titanium-series Android phone in the country. Now available at IndiaTimes Shopping, the new Karbonn Titanium S25 Klick is on sale for INR 7,820, however the exact official pricing is unclear at this moment.
As the name suggests, the phone is being targeted to the imaging enthusiasts and sports a 5MP front shooter and 13MP primary camera with LED flash. There is no word on whether Karbonn has included any software tweaks to enhance the imaging experience, but hopefully the company will detail them with the official announcement, which can come anyday now.
Karbonn Titanium S25 Klick also comes with 5-inch 720p HD display, 1.3GHz quad-core processor (MediaTek likely), 1GB of RAM and dual-SIM support. In addition, the company has included 8GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, 3G, and 2000 mAh battery. The phone runs on Android 4.4 KitKat and there is no word on the Lollipop update.

While Samsung might not be joining the likes of Gionee, Oppo or Vivo to compete for world’s thinnest smartphone crown, the Korean manufacturer is planning to release its thinnest smartphone soon. Unlike the Gionee or Oppo phones, the upcoming Galaxy A7 won’t be 5.1mm or 4.7mm thick, but it will still be quite slim at 6.3mm.
Although Samsung is yet to officially announce the phone and its specifications, the Galaxy A7 appeared in the database of Chinese regulator TENAA, which is a quite credible source of pre-launch leaks. The TENAA listing reveals that A7 will measure 150.9×75.9×6.3mm, making it the thinnest smartphone from company, piping the Galaxy Alpha and A5 (6.7mm thick).
There is no word on the exact launch date or pricing of the A7 at this moment, but thanks to the TENAA listing and previous leaks, we know that the smartphone will feature a 5.5-inch full HD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 64-bit processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 13MP rear camera and 5MP front shooter.

Samsung has started rolling out Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Galaxy S5 S900F smartphone. The update is currently live in Poland and being released both over-the-air and via Samsung Kies application.
We expect the update to go live in other markets in the coming weeks for the unlocked models, however the carrier-branded Galaxy S5 units will take slightly more time given the added carrier-testing time.
The Android 5.0 Lollipop brings a number of improvements and changes to the S5 like tweaked user-interface, better fingerprint recognition, performance enhancements, improved notifications, ART as default runtime. The exact official change-log is unavailable at this point.
This is the fastest Samsung has been able to roll-out a major Android version for its existing smartphones. Since the Lollipop code dump in AOSP, the company has taken just 31 days to release the Galaxy S5 update. The company, however still fell behind Motorola and LG, both of which have already released Android 5.0 for one or more of their phones.

After releasing the second-generation Moto G and Moto X smartphones, Lenovo-owned Motorola Mobility is now reportedly getting ready to launch the Moto E successor. According to Greek blog Techmaniacs, the Moto E (2nd Gen) will be announced soon and come with moderate improvements in the specifications.As per the information received by the blog, Moto E successor will sport a 4.5-inch qHD display, which is slightly bigger than the original. Smartphone vendor Spice Mobiles on Thursday launched a new Stellar-series smartphone in the country. Dubbed as Stellar 520n, the phone is a variant of the company’s previously launched Stellar 520.

Asus has quietly launched the Zenfone 5 Lite A502CG smartphone in the Indian market. The phone is now on sale at Flipkart, which the exclusive online retailer for all Zenfone smartphones in the country. Looks like, the first details of the next HTC flagship smartphone have leaked online. According to @Upleaks, the smartphone is known as HTC Hima. It is unclear at this point, whether “Hima” is a codename or the final branding of the phone.
The leaker has also published an alleged list of the specifications of this HTC smartphone, which include the 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM, and Android 5.0 with Sense 7.0. Chinese manufacturer Lenovo has added a new Android tablet to its portfolio in the Indian market. The new Lenovo Tab S8 is an eight-inch slate, which will be exclusively sold via e-retailer Flipkart.com. It carries a price-tag of INR 16,990 and can now grabbed now in Ebony colour option.

After an eventful week filled with confusion, Cyanogen Inc. has come forward to announce that it will provide updates for OnePlus One smartphones launched in India. While the company notes that the reports of CM ditching OnePlus for deal with Micromax were misinformation, it seems likely that Micromax, Cyanogen Inc. and OnePlus reached some sort of arrangement behind the scenes.“To clarify misinformation out there, the OnePlus One will get OTA firmware updates for all global devices, including global devices for our users in India.
